The Northrop Grumman Antares rocket, flying in the 230+ configuration, launched the Cygnus cargo resupply spacecraft. The Cygnus spacecraft, named after iconic NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, successfully docked with the International Space Station a few days later, with over 8,000 lbs of cargo. Virginia Space and NASA's Wallops Flight Facility supported the launch from Virginia's Eastern Shore, providing critical range and ground support. The launch was contracted under NASA's Commercial Resupply 2 program.
